NOTE:
Be very careful if you are removing avionics
equipment from your own aircraft. Some units can be severely damaged
by improper removal. Most notably the King KX-170 series radios can be
easily damaged if the locking mechanism is turned too far. American Avionics CANNOT be held responsible for any damage if you perform any procedure for which you aren't qualified to do. If there is any doubt, please call our service department first.
Q) What do I need to do to send in my avionics for repair?
Pack the unit(s) in a sturdy box
with at least 4 inches of
cushioning around all sides of the unit.
(we cannot emphasize enough how important this is)
Attach a note to each unit
describing the problems it has.
See the "Terminology"
Page for tips.
Include a purchase order number if applicable.
Also note if it is for Radio or Instrument Shop (see below).
Send it to us at the address
below. We recommend using
Federal Express, UPS Red or Blue because the units
will generally be handled better with air freight.
You may also want to insure the item.
